Load Rating Disclaimer
Our Expedition Racks and Crossbars are built for serious utility. While the physical structure is capable of supporting significant weight, we always recommend adhering to the vehicle manufacturer’s official load ratings for safety. Making claims beyond the vehicle manufacturer’s official load ratings would be considered irresponsible and potentially unsafe.
For the Rivian R1T and R1S, that means (per crossbar pair/4 mounting points):
Static Load (parked): Up to 780+ lbs
Dynamic Load (while driving): 250 lbs
For the Tesla Cybertruck, that means (per crossbar pair/4 mounting points)
Static Load (parked): Unknown
General Load: 220 lbs
*Tesla didn’t specify whether this 220 lbs limitation is dynamic or static
Our Expedition Rack utilizes all six factory mounting points on the Rivian R1S, and the full system does the same for the Cybertruck. Based on the engineering and distribution, we believe the dynamic load rating far exceeds 330 lbs, with the static load rating estimated at approximately three times that amount. While the system is ideal for mounting rooftop tents, recovery gear, cargo boxes, and other overlanding essentials, please ensure that all loads are evenly distributed and securely fastened. All items are carried at your own risk. Mars Adventure Gear is not responsible for any damage to your vehicle or rack resulting from improper use or overloading.
