Cybertruck Range Test: 416 Wh/mi with Rooftop Tent and Rack by Mars Adventure Gear

Tesla Cybertruck Cybertruck Range Test: 416 Wh/mi with Rooftop Tent and Rack by Mars Adventure Gear DSC03416

We recently introduced the world’s slimmest hardshell rooftop tent, the Mars Aeroblade, measuring just 3.48” thick, and the response has been overwhelming. We sold out the first batch in under a week, quickly followed by the second and third. We’ve just placed an order for another 100 units to keep up with demand. (Apologies to those who waited over 5 weeks—we hear you!)

As interest has grown, many customers have asked how the Aeroblade, when paired with our Expedition Full Rack System, impacts the Cybertruck’s driving range.

While some competitors choose to take shots at our work, we stay focused on what matters: building high-quality gear for real adventurers, backed by real-world performance, not marketing spin.

Over the holidays, we went on a camping trip and decided to test it ourselves. We documented a 38-mile drive with no editing except for time-lapse speed-up—and even with elevation gain, fully loaded gear, full rack, and rooftop tent, the Cybertruck achieved an impressive 416 Wh/mi. In plain terms: that’s nearly zero range loss compared to the stock configuration.

Ok fine, human language….

Even with all your overlanding gear onboard, you can still expect to get close to 300 miles on a single charge.

By the way…

We forgot to install our integrated Wind Deflector, so the result could have been even better!

Test Details:
Even while climbing elevation and cruising at highway speeds, the Cybertruck delivered impressive energy efficiency. That’s a testament to the aerodynamic design of MarsAG gear — engineered not just for rugged utility, but also for high-speed efficiency. The low-drag silhouette of the Aeroblade and the streamlined profile of the Expedition Rack reduce turbulence and keep airflow tight, minimizing range loss.

For Cybertruck owners who want to explore without compromise, this test shows it’s possible to stay efficient and expedition-ready at the same time.
